Ralston Golf Clubhouse Policy on Dress and Conduct

Ralston Golf Club offers a warm welcome to all members, guests and visitors and expects everyone to observe good standards of behaviour, have regard for other people using the Clubhouse and comply with the Clubhouse Policy.

In the Clubhouse the discretion to follow fashion preference is allowed subject to a few general requirements;

  • Clothing should be clean and tidy
  • No outdoor coats or jackets etc.
  • No hats should be worn other than at formal functions e.g. weddings
  • No ripped or torn clothing
  • Denim clothing is not permitted in the Strathmore Room
  • Golf shoes and short trousers are only allowed in the Spikes Bar

Gents and Junior Boys should wear collared shirts.(No t-shirts)
A few Club functions are designated as either, Formal (black tie) or Jacket collar and tie and they are noted in the Club diary.
Members are expected to ensure that their guests comply with the policy. Failure to do so may result in further action by staff or the Council.

RGC Clubhouse Policy on Use of Lounges and Rooms

  1. Members are welcome to use any room available during opening hours. The Clubhouse Manager will give prior intimation on the notice board if a late licence is granted beyond 11pm on a Friday or Saturday night and when the bar will close.
  2. The Club will normally provide at least one room for members at all times. For these purposes the Club refer to the Stables Room, Strathmore Room, Ralston Lounge and the Restaurant Area.
  3. Club Functions and Member's Private Functions will be organised. Access to club Functions will be restricted to those purchasing tickets. Access to Member's Private Functions will be by invitation only.
  4. When a function is organised in the Ralston Lounge, those members and their guests using another room will have access to the bar to order food and drink to be consumed in their chosen available room. Members are expected to respect the entitlement to privacy of those invited or paying to attend a function. Only those attending a function in the Ralston Lounge are allowed to stay in the bar area.

Members are expected to ensure that their guests comply with the policy. Failure to do so may result in further action by staff or the Council.
